Common Mistakes & Tested Techniques for Building Landing Pages
Let us not forget that in the Internet world, people rarely stumble across a website without actively searching for something. Today, the challenge is not to build a website but to direct searchers to your product or service. It takes between 2 to 8 seconds for site visitors to decide whether to stay on or click out. This is proof that there is no captive audience on the Internet. Moreover, only 20% of site visitors will read your (really really good) content. These are some of the realities in conducting business on the Internet.

How do you make sure visitors stay on your website and continue clicking on?
The Key: Effective Landing Pages
A Landing Page is where visitors land after clicking on a Pay Per Click Ad, Email Link, a Banner Ad, an Organic Search Engine result or manually typing in a specific advertised address. It usually shows a sales copy intended to further engage your prospect.
There are ways to draft an effective Landing Page, and some of them are tried and tested techniques:
One-line headline should be bigger and bolder, and centered
Black text (in 10 point or larger font) on a white background
All text should be aligned left and NEVER centered
No paragraphs longer than 4 ½ lines
Organize ideas using bullet lists
Bold text are for verbal emphasis and not readability
Eliminate any clicks to irrelevant pages or advertisers
Include logos, tagline, trust icons, testimonials, guarantees
We discuss the industry’s best practices to create an Effective Custom Landing Page in our FREE Webinar and Whitepaper.
